Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon Gloss White
RPM 1 Carbon implements radical concepts rarely found in its class of turntable. A low-resonance chassis carries an inverted platter bearing with a ceramic ball to minimize rumble. An outboard 15V AC motor is smoothly driven using a precise AC generator with DC power supply for enhanced speed stability and sound is reproduced by the included Sumiko Rainier MM Phone Cartridge.
The S-shaped tonearm tube is made from carbon fiber, aluminum and a damping resin compound. Using a complex 3-step process with heat treatment and 100bar pressure, armtube rigidity is superb, internal damping is maximized and resonance is reduced to a minimum, making the arm suitable for a variety of MM & MC cartridges. Additional features include a magnetic anti-skating mechanism and a TPE-damped counterweight.
Optional upgrades include Acryl it RPM 1 Carbon (acrylic record platter), Cover it RPM 1/3 Carbon (dustcover) & Ground it E (isolation platform) to name a few, all of which can be seen in the final two photos.
