It attacks the problems of isolation & resonance from multiple angles featuring height-adjustable TPE-damped aluminum feet, a massive plinth of top-quality MDF, a solid acrylic record platter, and a one-piece carbon-wrapped aluminum tonearm tube with precision bearings. Its motor is also shielded, TPE-isolated and fed by the cleanest power delivered by Speed Box technology for push-button speed change and spot-on stability.

The X1 B also integrates with all of Pro-Ject's Balanced components for the cleanest sound possible. In the early days of music recording and reproduction, balanced operation was necessary to stave off noise. This was the standard. However, as demand increased for easier, more affordable at-home listening, unbalanced (RCA) connections were developed & implemented for cost-cutting & ease-of-manufacture and were popularized. Balanced connection in music reproduction became a thing reserved only for the ‘high-end.’
